ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh reported one more Covid-19 case on Wednesday, which pushed the virus caseload in the Northeastern State to 55,323, said a senior Health official here on Wednesday.

With two more people recuperating from the disease on Tuesday, the total recoveries in the State now stands at 55,022. Arunachal now has 21 active cases.The death toll in the frontier state remained at 280 as no fresh fatality due to the infection was reported in the past 24 hours, said SSO (State Surveillance Officer) Dr Lobsang Jampa.

The recovery rate among coronavirus patients remained at 99.45 per cent, while the active ratio stood at 0.04, he added.

The Capital Complex Region -- comprising Itanagar, Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa areas -- has the highest number of active cases at 16, followed by West Kameng (2), Namsai, Lohit and East Siang districts with one case each.

A total of 12,03,479 samples, including 227 on Tuesday, have been tested for Covid-19 in the State, said Jampa, adding that the positivity rate stood at 0.44 per cent.

Meanwhile, State Immunisation Officer Dr Dimong Padung informed that a total of 14,51,662 people have been inoculated so far including 1,437 on Tuesday.
