Itanagar: In a significant move, Tawang district police in Arunachal Pradesh busted a gang of burglars and recovered a number of stolen goods against cases reported from across the district.
The stolen goods recovered from the three burglars include laptops, LCD TVs, gas cylinders, mobile handsets, CCTV cameras, furniture, clothes etc., police said.
Police also recovered a number of house-breaking implements including electric cutter, electric drilling machine, knives, daos, hammers and other weapons.
The arrested thieves were identified as Dawa Rai (23), Passang Rai (24) and Nima Rai (22) of Kargil Colony in Tawang.
A case has been registered at Tawang police station and investigation on, the police said.
During sustained examination, the three accused revealed that they all are brothers and were born and brought up in Tawang district. They have not studied past primary and were working as labourers. In the lure of easy money, they planned and started house breaking at night in the nearby villages. When successful, they started committing burglaries across the district, the police added.
