ITANAGAR : The Arunachal Pradesh police went hi-tech on Wednesday after launching the Arunpol App, a one-stop solution for the safety and security of the people. The app launched by Chief Minister Pema Khandu at the civil secretariat here has an emergency feature through which one can easily reach the police station in times of crisis, besides enjoying a range of other convenient services at their fingertips. Through the app, people could avail citizen services, lodge loss reports, get information on cyber safety, get traffic service information, get a police clearance certificate, get tenant verification, and get domestic help verification. Khandu also flagged off an Arun Pol Sewa vehicle during the event.

Taking to Twitter, Khandu said, "Launched ‘Arunpol’ app by which citizens can access a gamut of services like – Police Clearance Certification; Domestic help & Tenant Verifications; Traffic Services & Lost Report – provided by Arunachal Pradesh police." Such interventions will further help us improve law & order in the state and ensure transparency, responsive & people-friendly policing, Khandu said in another tweet. On the Arun Pol Sewa Vehicle, the chief minister wrote, "Feedback is the backbone of policing and it’s important for citizens to feel heard & their concerns validated."

"Flagged off ‘Arun Pol Sewa Vehicle’, from the civil secretariat today, that will create awareness about the work being done by the police to maintain law and order, and it will gather feedback from people," Khandu said in the microblogging site. State Home Minister Bamang Felix said that the Arunpol app will facilitate common people to lodge complaints without coming to the police station. He said that people can also apply for other clearances from the police through this app. Speaking on the Arunpol Seva Van, Felix added that the vehicle would go to different places and would try to know the issues of the people and create awareness among the masses.

Felix further informed that the chief minister also launched an E-Vigilance app for the state government employees, which would benefit the state government employees by ensuring timely vigilance clearance.
