ITANAGAR: In its endeavour to enhance interaction and promote mutual understanding amongst the people of Arunachal Pradesh with their peers from other states and to boost cultural connection, the Raj Bhavan celebrated Jharkhand Foundation Day on Wednesday. Governor Lt Gen K T Parnaik extended greetings to the people of Jharkhand on their statehood and conveyed good wishes. He also thanked the people of Jharkhand working in Arunachal Pradesh for their contributions to the progress of the northeastern state.

Parnaik advised the students studying in the higher education institutes of the state to imbibe the traditions and customs of the people. He also suggested they visit different parts of the state and know the essence of the cultural heritage. The governor stressed the celebration of every state's heritage and traditions by making people in different parts of the country aware of the traditions and cultures of other regions and celebrating them as part of the 'Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat' initiative. The governor and his wife interacted with them and acquainted themselves with the wellbeing of the people of Jharkhand in Arunachal Pradesh. As part of the programme, the audio-visual message of the Governor of Jharkhand, C. P.P Radhakrishnan, was also played on the occasion.
