Arunachal Pradesh registers one Covid case, two recoveries

ITANAGAR: One more person tested positive for Covid-19 in Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday, six less than the previous day, pushing the virus caseload in the northeastern state to 55,314, a senior health official informed here.

As many as 55,000 people recuperated from the disease so far including, two on Tuesday, the official said.

The death toll in the frontier state remained at 280 as no fresh fatality due to the infection was reported in the past 24 hours, State Surveillance Officer Dr Lobsang Jampa said.

The recovery rate among coronavirus patients in the state remained at 99.43 per cent while the active ratio stood at 0.06.

The northeastern state now has 34 active cases, said Jampa.The Capital Complex Region, comprising Itanagar, Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa areas, has the highest number of active cases at 16, followed by West Kameng at nine, Namsai at four, Tawang at two and Lower Dibang Valley, Lohit and East Siang at one each. A total of 12,01,992 samples, including 263 on Tuesday, have been tested for Covid-19 in the state, Jampa said adding, the positivity rate stood at 0.38 per cent. State Immunisation Officer Dr Dimong Padung said 14,41,910 people have been inoculated so far including 2,075 on Tuesday.
