ITANAGAR: Altogether 10 more people tested positive for Covid-19 in Arunachal Pradesh, pushing the virus tally in the northeastern state to 55,242, said State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa here on Friday.

The Coronavirus death toll in the state remained unchanged at 280 as no fresh fatality was registered in the past 24 hours.

The northeastern state now has 54 active cases, while 54,908 people have recovered from the disease so far, including four on Thursday, the official said.

The recovery rate among the Covid-19 patients in the state stood at 99.39 per cent, while the active percentage remained below one.

The Capital Complex Region comprising Itanagar, Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa areas has the highest number of active cases at 13, followed by Tawang (10), West Kameng and East Siang at eight cases each.

The state has so far tested 11,95,226 samples for Covid-19, including 333 on Thursday, said the SSO, adding that the positivity rate increased to three per cent.

Meanwhile, State Immunisation Officer Dr Dimong Padung informed that a total of 13,74,293 people have been inoculated till date including, 3,921 on Thursday.
