ITANAGAR: As many as 322 more people tested positive for Covid-19 in Arunachal Pradesh, pushing the total caseload in the northeastern state to 27,272, a senior health department official said on Tuesday. The death toll in the state remained at 115 as no Covid-19 casualty was reported in the past 24 hours, State Surveillance Officer (SSO) Dr Lobsang Jampa said.
The Capital Complex region continued to record the highest number of fresh cases with 49, followed by West Kameng (37), Changlang (29), Lohit (27), Anjaw (25), Namsai (24), Lower Subansiri (23), East Siang (17), Lower Dibang Valley (14) and East Kameng with 13 cases.
Ten cases each were also reported in Papumpare and Leparada, eight each in Lower Siang, Upper Subansiri and Upper Siang, six in Longding, five in Tawang, two each in Kamle, Kurung Kumey and Kra Daadi and one each in Dibang Valley, Siang and West Siang district respectively, the official said.
Of the fresh cases 318 were detected through rapid antigen tests, one through RT-PCR and three through TrueNat method, the SSO said adding, 130 people have symptoms. The frontier state now has 3,755 active cases.
At least 350 more people were recovered from the disease on Monday, taking the total number of recoveries in the State to 23,402. The recovery rate among coronavirus patients in the State stands at 85.81 per cent while the active percentage stands at 13.77 and the positivity rate at 5.79 per cent, Jampa said.
The Capital Complex Region - comprising Itanagar, Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa areas - has the highest number of active cases at 661, followed by Tawang (433), Changlang (431), Namsai (302), Lower Subansiri (271), Lower Dibang Valley (256) and West Kameng with 215 cases. Altogether, 5,85,905 samples have been tested for Covid-19 in the state so far, including 5,552 on Monday, Jampa said.
State Immunisation Officer Dr Dimong Padung said that a total of 3,41,830 people have been administered Covid-19 vaccine doses so far in the state since the inoculation drive began in January.
Keeping in view the spurt in coronavirus cases, the State government extended lockdown in seven districts of the state for seven more days till June 7.
