Arunachal Pradesh tableau selected for Republic Day parade

ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Tableau on the theme 'ANGLO-ABOR (ADI) WARS, conceptualized and designed by the Art and Exhibition Cell of the Directorate of Information and Public Relations, GoAP, Naharlagun has been selected for participation in the Republic Day Tableaux Parade 2022 at Rajpath, New Delhi on January 26, 2022.

The tableaux will showcase the resistance of the Adis to protect their land from the Britishers in the 19th century and early part of the 20th century. The people of Arunachal Pradesh take great pride in the unsung freedom fighters as their bravery, patriotism and supreme sacrifices are not inferior to those of the contemporary freedom fighters of other parts of the country.

Selection of tableaux for participation in the Republic Day Tableaux Parade is a painstakingly long and rigorous process involving various elimination rounds screened by the Expert Committee appointed by the Ministry of Defence, Government of India.

At present, a team of 17 delegates are camped at New Delhi. The performing artistes from East Siang who will perform along the tableau are David Darang (troupe leader), Tagom Taga, Tabom Tali, Dilip Panyang, Tasek Taboh, Nalo Saroh, Tamar Takoh, Tajing Yosung, Taram Riyang, Tayem Tali, Tayi Takoh, Tanyo Panyang, Oky Jerang and Taham Taga.
