ITANAGAR: “The present state government is running a dictatorial form of government by forceful and unfair detention of innocent protesters who were detained in connection with the recent 72-hour statewide shutdown”, said Arunachal Pradesh Youth Congress (APYC) president Tarh Johny.

APYC strongly condemned the alleged forceful and indiscriminate detention, and stood in solidarity with detainees while demanding the state government for immediate release of all detainees and dismissal of cases registered against them under whatsoever sections, Johny informed while addressing reporters at the Press Club here on Tuesday.

He said that the forceful detention of protesters resulted because of the state government’s eye washing assurances given to the 13-point charter of demands placed by Pan-Arunachal Joint Steering Committee (PAJSC) in the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) paper-leak case.

He claimed that fundamental rights of some individuals had been denied through unfair means. He also claimed that police personnel were involved in unlawful activities during the bandh call.
