Arunachal Water Resources Minister Mama Natung convened virtual conference

ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Water Resources Minister Mama Natung convened the first-ever virtual conference of the Water Resources Department (WRD) at the Civil Secretariat here recently.

The conference took stock of the flood-related damage due to the recent incessant rainfall, and also reviewed the progress of various works under various State and Centre-sponsored schemes.

During the conference, Natung stressed that the COVID-19 pandemic should not be a hindrance to the development work. He also directed the officers to be sincere in their duties, and cautioned that survey works and estimation should not be done only on table; but after assessment from ground zero.

He appealed to the field engineers to ensure timely completion of various projects while maintaining quality of works especially the projects under Central schemes like the 'PMKSY'. He also told them to cooperate with the district administration in the fight against the COVID-19.
