ASS President Rongbong Terang To Get Lummer Dai Award 2019

Itanagar: Former Asom Sabhitya Sabha (ASS) president Rongbong Terang is going to receive the prestigious Lummer Dai Literary Award 2019 by ASS in an award distribution ceremony at Lummer Dai Bhawan in Assam’s Tezpur on June 1 next, commemorating the 79th birth anniversary of ‘Sahitya Surya’ Lummer Dai.

A slew of activities including paying of tribute to Luminous Lummer are set to mark the illustrious author’s 79 birth anniversary celebration.

This year’s ceremony is being organized by the Sonitpur District Sabhitya Sabha with support from Tezpur Branch of Sabhitya Sabha.

Rongbong Terang, a noted literary figure from Assam and North East, is a Padmashree awardee for his literary work Rongmilir Hanhi.

On the same say in far off Siluk village under East Siang district, the birth place of late Lummer Dai, the Silukian Welfare Kebang is going to organize a function to mark the 79 birth anniversary celebration of the literary icon, who has taken Arunachal to new heights with his immense contribution in the world of Assamese literature. Several programmes viz tree plantation and felicitation of meritorious students among others are in the line up to make the special occasion a momentous one.
