ITANAGAR: The Changlang district battalion of Assam Rifles (AR) under the aegis of Headquarter Inspector General AR (North) conducted a free medical camp and COVID awareness drive at Kengkhu and Rangkatu village of the Changlang district on Thursday.
The camp was attended by the villagers from Kengkhu, Rangkatu and its adjoining villages of Changlang circle. The medical camp aimed to provide free medical treatment to the residents.
A team of medical staff under Assistant Commandant Rohit Kumar conducted the free medical camp wherein the team carried out medical screening and treated the patients besides providing medicines to the needy villagers.
Also, as an enhanced measure to curb the spread of the COVID pandemic, the unit initiated an awareness drive among the population about the measures to be followed to be safe from the virus.
The AR also distributed free anti-COVID kits including masks, sanitisers, hand gloves, essential commodities and among the needy villagers.
Meanwhile, the people of Kengkhu, Rangkatu and the adjoining villages of Changlang circle highly appreciated the initiative of the Changlang Battalion of AR for organizing the free medical camp and awareness drive.
