ITANAGAR: In a major achievement for the residents of Tirap and Longding districts in Arunachal Pradesh, 18 youth, both male and female, that were trained by Khonsa Battalion of Assam Rifles have been selected in the latest recruitment for Constable (GD) in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), SSF, and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles, at an unprecedented success rate of almost 51 per cent. On Saturday, the Khonsa Battalion of Assam Rifles (AR) felicitated the proud and successful candidates.

It may be mentioned that a five-week pre-recruitment training was conducted from March 16 to April 19, 2023, at Khonsa Battalion HQs, in which 27 male and 8 female aspirants attended with full zeal. The rigorous pre-recruitment training resulted in the selection of 18 of those aspirants, which include eleven male candidates for the Assam Rifles, two males and one female candidate for the Indo-Tibetan Border Police, two male candidates for the Border Security Force, and two male candidates for the Central Reserve Police Force. While felicitating the soldiers-to-be, Khonsa Battalion of Assam Rifles commandant Colonel Aman Ahluwalia, Tirap superintendent of police Rahul Gupta, and Longo circle officer Dr. Ripi Doni conveyed their best wishes and encouraged the selected candidates to be role models for the young generation and defence service aspirants.
