Ayang Conducts Blood Donation Camp At Bakin Pertin General Hospital in Pasighat

Itanagar: Spearheaded by Ayang, a non-governmental organization, a blood donation camp was organized on Tuesday at Bakin Pertin General Hospital at Pasighat in East Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh on the occasion of National Voluntary Blood Donation Day.

The camp was organized in collaboration with the department of Health & Family Welfare, an official communique informed.

It was encouraging to see many volunteers comprising of mostly youth, who all came forward with enthusiasm since Tuesday morning to the annexe blood bank building at the hospital, inspired by Aini Taloh, the founder chairperson of Ayang.

Altogether 38 units of blood were collected during the camp.

With the motto of “Be a Hero to Someone in Need”, the camp is an initiative of Aini Taloh, who is popularly known as ‘Ayi’ (Mother) and who had received many national recognition for her selfless works in voluntary blood donation to save precious lives for needy patients.

Lauding the voluntary spirit of the youth in particular and the general public for joining in the movement, Taloh said, “youth are the agents of change and I call upon them to join the blood donation movement to save humanity through sharing their love through their veins.”

Taloh also extended her gratitude to the donors and the hospital fraternity led by Joint director of health services Dr D Raina for the success of the blood donation camp.

Pathologist Dr G Jonkey also shared that it was a healthy trend that Ayang in particular and other organizations in the district are coming forward for voluntary blood donation camps serving the needy patients at crucial times to save lives, the communique added.
