ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen K T Parnaik emphasised on Thursday that banking facilities should reach the vibrant border villages and circle headquarters in the state. The governor, during a meeting with SBI’s Chief General Manager (North East Circle), Vincent Menachery Devassy, who called on him at Raj Bhawan here, said that such initiatives would facilitate providing basic necessities to the villagers in line with the Vibrant Village Programme, initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Sharing his observations from his recent district tour with the SBI Chief General Manager, Parnaik said that the disbursement of loans to the farmers needs to be expedited, as an official communiqué informed here. Parnaik said that during his review meeting with district officials and members of the agrarian community, they informed him that the loans linked to state and central government-sponsored schemes were at times delayed. The governor suggested that bank officials avail themselves of the ‘Seva Aapke Dwar’ (service at your doorsteps) platform in the state to create awareness of the services provided by the financial institutions.

He said that it would help the people, especially the youth, to go for ‘Start Up’ schemes. The Chief General Manager, while appraising the governor about the initiatives taken by the bank for a healthy banking system in the state, assured him to provide all necessary facilities for the welfare of the people of the state and simplify the process of providing loans to beneficiaries.

He further informed the community that he would visit the state again to spread awareness among the people about availing loans for ‘Start Ups’ and matters related to insurance.
