ITANAGAR: The Arunachal Pradesh unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Saturday observed the 105th birth anniversary of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya at the party's office here.
The party paid floral tributes to the leader while recalling his contributions as an exponent of right-wing Hindutva ideology and doctrine of integral humanism.
State president Biyuram Waghe in his address dwelt in length on the life and contributions of Upadhyaya for the growth of the party from Jan Sangh.
Waghe announced that the party would establish a wellness centre at its office for the welfare of the poor and downtrodden people across the state in the next week.
To mark the occasion, the party led by its president distributed fruits among the patients at Ramakrishna Mission Hospital here.
State higher education department OSD Dr A K Mishri and Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (VKV) teacher Pankaj Kumar were invited on the occasion as resource persons to enlighten on the life of Upadhyaya, a party communiqué informed here.
