Itanagar: Terming the BJP as a party with a difference which always follows the spirit of “sabka saath, sabka vikas”, Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Saturday said that the party never indulges in petty politics when it comes to the welfare and development of its people.
Attending a party meeting at Ngopok village under Mebo Assembly constituency in East Siang district, the Chief Minister said that on earlier occasions, parties in power at the Centre always treated the Northeast as a money minting machine and never bothered to understand the people of the region.
“The Congress never bothered to understand the people of the Northeast. So when they know nothing about us, how can they provide solution on poverty and backwardness in the region,” he said.
Khandu added that since BJP is a party that cares, development has raced ahead in the Northeast and all pending issues such as of Bru and Bodo were solved.
“The party always tries to be in sync with the aspirations of northeastern people for which the DoNER Ministry was formed under Atal Behari Vajpayee,” Khandu pointed out.
The Chief Minister assured that the State Government is seriously putting efforts to put the system of governance on right track.
“For the mechanism of deliverance to be effective, the entire bureaucratic machinery and government employees must work towards achieving it as politicians alone cannot achieve it,” he said and added that till today many of the beneficiaries are unable to reap the full benefit of the important state and central flagships programmes.
He added that in coming days the Sarkar Aapke Dwar would be carried out with renewed vigour. For transparency, Khandu assured to strengthen the third party monitoring by the party which would keep track and monitor the effectiveness in implementation of government schemes and developmental works.
Khandu was accompanied by Lok Sabha MP Tapir Gao, State BJP president Biyuram Wahge, MLAs Zingnu Namchoom, Kaling Moyong, Gum Tayeng and other dignitaries, a CMO communique said.
