ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Education Minister Taba Tedir on Friday said that he has instructed the Special Secretary (Education) to issue an order to all District Deputy Commissioners (DC) to look into the issue of bogus teachers working in the State.

Clarifying on the recent reports of a bogus teacher teaching in a primary school at Bokar Village under Pipu Circle of East Kameng, Minister Tedir informed that the DC has been entrusted to verify the reports. He said, according to the committee report, the absence of teachers was during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Tedir also said that he had spoken to the DC on Friday and the DC informed that the reports are not exactly as it was presented in some reports.

Addressing media persons at the Secretariat here, Tedir said that strict action will be initiated against any individual found indulging into such unfair means thereby diminishing the image of the education system.

"A School Management Committee (SMC) has been already formed to check such irregularities. The SMC should strictly monitor the attendance of teachers and accordingly inform the higher authority if they find that there is any irregular teacher or someone is using the proxy approach to fill up his or her attendance," he said.

The Minister added that the respective district DC and Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) has been instructed to ensure that all matters pertaining to land allotment under government educational institutions are being expedited.
