Bomdila Police Arrested One for Organizing Housie at Helipad

BOMDILA: The Bomdila Police arrested one K Wangdi in connection with the Bomdila police station case (No. 01/20 U/S 4 of Arunachal Pradesh Gambling (Prohibition) ACT 2012) for organizing housie at the helipad in New Bomdila last Saturday.

Enacting on the tip-off provided by an informer, the team of police under the supervision of SP West Kameng Raja Banthia swung into action and raided the location, identified the organizer and arrested him later. The team stopped the crowd to play and dispersed them from the spot.

A huge number of people gathered to play housie violating the State Gambling (Prohibition) Act 2012. Wangdi was found selling tickets of Rs 2,000. The police also seized the tickets, booklets and other gambling items.
