ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Home Minister Bamang Felix on Thursday exhorted the panchayat members and the BJP workers to work towards bridging the gap between beneficiaries and benefits under various PM and CM flagship programmes.

Addressing the Seva, Sushasan aur Gareeb Kalyan Parv at Layang in the Kurung Kumey district to mark the eight years of development under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Minister informed that there are 340 PM flagship programmes and 82 CM flagship programmes which have the potential of bringing development in every sphere.

He called on all PRIs and BJP functionaries to work in the spirit of BJP's guiding principle of 'Antyodaya' and ensure that every single beneficiary gets benefitted, an official communiqué informed here.

Felix, who represents the Nyapin constituency in the district, said, "Empowering masses is not about benefiting them financially; it is to make them capable enough to identify and draw benefits from various flagship programmes of the Government."

He emphasized the responsibility and duty of panchayats to inform masses about Government's welfare initiatives.

Setting a deadline of one month, Bamang Felix directed all panchayat members of his area and party workers, to draw out modalities to identify and facilitate enrollment of eligible beneficiaries.

He assured that required training and capacity building of panchayats would also be undertaken in coordination with district administration.

Listing out a few of the flagship programmes, including Arunachal Pradesh Dulari Kanya Yojana, Deen Dayal Upadhaya Swavalamban Yojana, Chief Minister Arogya Arunachal Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana and Har Ghar Jal under Jal Jeevan Mission, the Minister advised that every panchayat member and party worker should be well versed in all of the schemes.

In the sideline of the event, 'Vikas Teerth Bike Rally' was also undertaken by the members of the Nyapin Mandal unit of BJP from Nyapin to Sangram, covering a distance of about 40 km, the communiqué said.
