ITANAGAR: The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) has restored the Ditte Dime-Migging road in Upper Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh in a record 72 hours. Despite heavy rain, the BRO personnel completed the road diversion, and it was opened for all types of traffic on June 23, according to BRTF Commanding Officer (CO) O Taki. On June 19, the 80-foot Bailey Bridge over a tributary of the Siang river near Bomdo village in the district collapsed into the valley along with a dumper on the Diite Dime-Migging road, for which the surface connectivity to the forward areas like Tuting subdivision was completely cut off from the rest of the world, Taki said.

The personnel of BRO’s Project Brahmank promptly took up the construction of a diversion road and restored connectivity, he said. Meanwhile, Upper Siang Deputy Commissioner Hage Lailang has praised the BRO for their quick response to restoring road connectivity. He reckoned that the restoration of the strategically important road would help in mitigating the hardships faced by the denizens residing in forward areas.
