Committed to Strengthen State Police: Arunachal CM Pema Khandu

Itanagar: Chief Minister Pema Khandu Friday reiterated his government’s commitment to prioritize law and order in the State saying all out effort is being put in to strengthen the police force.

Inaugurating the new office building of Superintendent of Police at the border district of Tawang in the presence of Home Minister Bamang Felix, Khandu said that the State Government has sanctioned good amount of funds for police modernization, procuring latest equipment, meeting infrastructure gaps and manpower.

“Two more police battalion of the State will be formed soon while recruitment for 1,000 more posts for the State police force will start soon,” the Chief Minister informed.

On revenue generation, Khandu informed that top revenue generating districts would get special focus from the government, an official communique informed.

He said a sense of competitiveness would be generated so that every district would compete to generate maximum revenue.

The Chief Minister further informed that besides allocation of Rs 2,500 crore approved by State Cabinet committee on infrastructure recently, an additional Rs 1,000 crore would be released soon for developing infrastructure in the State.

He also informed that Rs 200 crore is being kept for distributions of funds to all 60 constituencies.

Home Minister Felix also spoke on the occasion.

Director General of Police RP Upadhyaya, Brigadier Zubin Bhatnagar of and Tawang SP Sagar Singh Kalsi were also present on the occasion, the communique added.
