ITANAGAR: The All Arunachal Contractor’s Welfare Association (AACWA) on Monday called on Deputy Chief Minister (DCM) Chowna Mein at his office to discuss the problems faced by local contractors due to non-release of LOC authorization for payments to the contractors pending bills against their projects.

The AACWA appraised the DCM about “delaying tactics” of the Finance department in approval of LOC authorization.

Mein, who is also the Finance Minister, informed the association about the financial status of the State.

He said that the State is financially healthy and he has no problem to release funds against all works but the departments concerned should complete all formalities.

Mein also assured to call a meeting with the Finance departments regarding the delay in release of LOC Authorization.

Meanwhile, the AACWA also expressed strong objection over the implementation of Government e Marketing (GeM) in the State because GeM will “deprive” local vendors.

Substantiating their concern on it, the association said that the local shopkeepers are going through hard times as their business is being overpowered by the online shopping like Amazon, Flipkart and many more.
