SEPPA: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar has asked the heads of departments (HoDs) to incorporate "coordination and persuasion" for successful implementation of any developmental projects in the East Kameng district in the development sectors of the district. He also assured every possible help to the departments in this regard.

Attending a district review-cum-coordination meeting at DC conference hall here on Sunday, Kumar said that he will help the district administration with their future plans in every possible way.

Asking the HoDs to solve the problems of the people, Kumar especifically directed the Department of Public Health and Engineering (PHE) to ensure that the public are being provided quality drinking water within two months.

He further said that a review meeting will be held on November 6 next month through video conferencing on various issues discussed in the meeting and accordingly see if the plans are being seriously implemented.

"Every head of department should at least work for eight hours at the ground level. Unless we work, we can't solve any issues for the public," he said, adding that the heads of department should do justice for what they are paid and for what they have been appointed.

Appreciating the suggestion of the district administration for making arrangements for lights at the 'Nisam Sonam Bridge' located at the entry point of Seppa town, Kumar requested the four local legislators to contribute Rs 10 lakh each from the MLALAD fund and assured that provide that the remaining amount will be taken care of from the government's side.

Kumar further said that the district is blessed with great potential in agriculture, horticulture and tourism. Stressing upon making a serious plan for rafting, Kumar asked the DC to develop the Tourism sector. He also requested the DC and HoDs to make sure that every plan and projects discussed in the meeting to be successful so that the district can set an example to the other districts.

He also interacted with the HoDs on their plans and as well as the issues they have been facing; and suggested ideas to tackle the issues.

While addressing the serious issue of inadequate number of subject teachers in the district schools, Kumar suggested that the DDSE should write a letter to the State Education Department to depute more teachers for teaching Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics in the district.

The CS also asked the District Health Department to get all the required medical equipment by December 25.

Earlier in the meeting, Deputy Commissioner P Pravimal Abhishek highlighted the major district developmental issues and infrastructure proposals through a powerpoint presentation.

The meeting was attended by Minister for Sports and Youths Affairs Mama Natung, Seppa town MLA Tapuk Taku, Chayantajo MLA Hayang Mangfi, ADC Dahey Sangno, and Superintendent of Police along with the heads of departments.

Minister for Sports & Youth Affairs Mama Natung said that the HoDs should hold review and coordination meetings regularly. Natung also requested CS to emphasize on the project plans of the district at the Cabinet Secretary-level meeting to be held at New Delhi soon.

"We are just policy makers, the department and district administration is responsible for successful implementation of such works," he added.

Chayangtajo MLA Hayang Mangfi while thanking CS for his support in bringing the frontier highway connecting Nyapin to Chayangtajo also requested a new road project connecting Chayangtajo and Seppa from the other end of the Kameng River.

Meanwhile, MLA Tapuk Taku requested the CS for the early construction of a bridge from Bebo colony to New Seppa in the interest of the public. He said the "Nisam Sonam" bridge is the only lifeline connecting both the towns.

He said if the bridge gets shattered by any reasons, people will remain disconnected and will face problems in transportation of essential goods and other services.

Taku also said that Home Minister Bamang Felix on behalf of Chief Minister Pema Khandu had assured to construct the bridge during the general conference of the Nyishi Elite Society held at Seppa recently.

He also requested CS for the construction of sector roads and a DC bungalow in Seppa town.

Earlier during the day, the CS also visited the district hospital along with Secretary Health P Parthiban, Secretary RWD (Rural Works Department) NT Glow and Water Resource Department (Water Resources Department) Chief Engineer (Western Zone) Getom Borang.
