ITANAGAR: The number of COVID-19 recoveries in Arunachal Pradesh continue to suppress the fresh infection with 79 more people recuperating from the infection, even as 20 fresh cases were reported, pushing the total caseload in the State to 15,812 cases. The total number of recoveries in the State now stands at 14,500 with recovery rate at 91.70 per cent while the death ratio stands at 0.38 per cent, said State Surveillance Officer (SSO), DrLobsangJampa.
The State currently has 1,264 active cases. Altogether 48 persons have succumbed to the infection so far. Of the 20 new COVID-19 cases, five each were reported from the Capital Complex region and upper Siang; four from Lower Dibang Valley; three from Tawang; two from West Kameng; and one from Longding. Among the new patients are two Army personnel and two Healthcare workers. Barring four, all new patients are asymptomatic and have been shifted to COVID Care Centres.
"All the new infections were detected through Rapid Antigen Tests," said DrJampa, adding that the positivity rate in the State currently stands at 8.30 per cent.
The Capital Complex region — comprising Itanagar, Naharlagun, Nirjuli and Banderdewa areas — has the highest number of active cases at 780, followed by West Kameng (76), East Siang (61) and Lower Dibang Valley (51).
