Coronavirus Update: First Positive COVID-19 Case in Arunachal Pradesh; Stayed at Nizamuddin Markaz

After Assam now it is Arunachal Pradesh that reported its first confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) case today (Thursday). According to a source, the COVID patient from Tezu in Lohit district has been kept in strict quarantine.

As per the sources, seven people from Arunachal district were kept in quarantine were six in Namsai and one in Lohit. Their samples were sent to Dibrugarh district on Wednesday.

They had all travelled to Delhi together in December from Tinsukia and they all returned to Namsai, Lohit and Itanagar between March 19 and 20, according to the sources.

As per of there travel history of those who have been identified, they did not take part in the religious event of Tablighi Jamaat in Delhi as they were in Uttar Pradesh. They did, however, stay at Nizamuddin Markaz from December 12-14 and between March 14 and 16, before returning to the state, according to the official.

Meanwhile, in Assam 16 tested positive case of COVID-19 till date who took part in the Tablighi Jamaat congregation at Nizamuddin Markaz in Delhi. This was announced by the state health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
