ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein on Sunday paid a visit to the nursery of Tengapani Forest Range under Namsai Forest Division. He was accompanied by Dr Prosanta Hazarika, Assistant Chief Technical Officer from Rain Forest Research Institute, Jorhat in Assam.
Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein lauded the initiative of the forest department and appreciated their effort in raising species of khair (Acacia catechu), teak, Siris and Simul in the nursery. Divisional Forest Officer Tabang Jamoh briefed Mein about the various forestry activities carried out by the department. He also informed that they were leaving no stone unturned to preserve, conserve and protect the flora and fauna of the district. Among others, Range Forest Officer Alok Kumar was also present on the occasion, an official report said here.
