DGBBA bans sale of IMFL in Lower Subansiri district villages

Ziro: The Dwbo Gaon Bura Buri Association (DGBBA) has called for a complete ban on the unauthorized sale of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) within its area of jurisdictions – Bamin-Michi, Mudang Tage and Dutta villages in Lower Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh from February 1 next. In this regard, the DGBBA has issued an order restricting all concerned from selling IMFL, beer, including locally produced rice beers, within the association’s jurisdictions. The DGBBA has cautioned of legal actions and imposition of penalty by the association against the defaulters. The decision to ban the sale of alcohol was taken and announced during the association’s second foundation day celebration at Nago Putu on December 6 last year, in order curb alcohol abuse especially, among youths and alcohol related ailments.

Meanwhile, the gaon bura buri associations in the Ziro Valley have mourned the demise of head gaon bura, Tadu Nambo, of Hari village here, who passed away on Friday.

Nambo (87) is survived by his wife, daughter and two grandchildren. His last rites will be performed on Sunday at Hari village.
