'Donyi Polo Airport to change tourism prospects in Arunachal'

ITANAGAR: With the inauguration of the Donyi Polo Airport here by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday along with dedicating the 600 MW Kameng Hydro project to the nation, various political leaders of the State have expressed their views on the two dream projects. According to former Chief Minister of the State PK Thungon, the airport project was his dream to achieve during his tenure.

Expressing his gratitude over the inauguration of the two big projects for the people of State, Thungon said that he was of the perception to have the regular airport within the capital region at foothill areas where there is enough space of land.

"I could not achieve my dreams as there were problems with taking the airport inside the hills," said Thungon. Itanagar MLA Techi Kaso said that if this is not development then what more could be the development that the State has achieved under the Modi and Chief Minister Pema Khandu.

"It was in the year 2019 that the foundation stone for the airport was laid. But now is ready for regular operation," said Kaso.
