Drive Taken Against Traffic Rule Violators Led By District Administration At Itanagar
ITANAGAR: The district administration of Capital Complex led by Circle Officer Laxmi Dodum, DTO C Wangsu, T Soni MVI, G Tassa, OC Itanagar Police Station carried out a checking drive during which tinted glasses were removed from 280 vehicles.
Many violators, especially two wheeler, were penalized and Rs 27,300 was collected.
The District Transport Officer Capital Complex has also issued an order stating that many vehicle owners are not abiding with the Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989.
The most common violation noticed is that a vehicle cannot be rolled out without a proper High Security Registration Number Plates (HSRNP). It also stated that registration number plates for any type of vehicle must be in English letters and the digits must be in Arabic numerals only.
The order also stated that there has been a tendency among the private vehicles owners to use number plates of any background as per personal choice.
In this connection, they must realize that number plates must have white background and numbers must be in black for private/ government vehicles with red borders on top of the registration numbers with super inscription as Government of Arunachal Pradesh and in case of commercial vehicles, the background must be in yellow.
Further, in pursuance of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highway vide Notification No S.O.6052(E) Dated New Delhi the 6th December 2018, no vehicle can be registered with the DTO without going through the procedure for obtaining New High Security Registration Plate under VAHANA4 which is in force since April 1, 2019.
The order further stated that ignoring the above stated references is a violation of Motor Vehicles Rules 1989 and invite action and the enforcement department shall initiate necessary action against the violators of above rules.
The In-charge Deputy Commissioner Capital Complex Talom Dupak has also appealed to the denizens of Capital Complex to cooperate with the administration and to abide by the traffic rules.
