SEPPA: The East Kameng Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pravimal Abhishek Polumatla on Wednesday convened a coordination meeting with all the stakeholders and chalked out a plan to construct 'Community Sanitary Complexes' (CSCs) in villages by converging the 'Swachch Bharat Mission' ('Grammen') with the 'Mahatma Gandhi NREGS'.

The objective of the meeting was to sustain the 'Open Defecation Free' (ODF) status and to cover the villages with the 'Solid and Liquid Waste Management' (SLWM) system.

The DC directed the Panchayat and Rural Development department to coordinate and cooperate with the PHE&WS (Public Health Engineering and Water Supply) department for the successful construction and implementation of CSCs with solid convergence plan as desired by the government.

He said that the PHE&WS department will assess and prepare a detailed plan for the construction and implementation of CSCs in the villages.

"The Project Director (PD) of District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) will chalk out a modality to ensure the convergence of unskilled labour component under MGNREGS for the construction of CSCs," he added.

The DC also added that the entire projects placed for implementation shall be segregated and prioritized based on the real need, availability of water, sewer feasibility, space, topography and other aspects associated with the location of the villages. He exhorted all to cooperate and work in mission mode to achieve the true goal of the SBM.

Meanwhile, in order to avoid duplicity of work, Executive Engineer (EE) of PHE & WS Department Bharat Sonam asked the Panchayat department to furnish the details of all villages which were provided earlier with community toilets.
