ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen K T Parnaik participated in ‘Sewa Aapke Dwar’, one of the flagship programmes of the state, at Jayang Bagang village, one of the villages selected under the vibrant village programme, in East Kameng district. As many as 1018 villagers benefited from the daylong programme that was organised on Tuesday, as a Raj Bhawan communiqué informed here on Wednesday. The governor, who visited the stalls installed by the departments for the programme, emphatically directed the officials to ensure that all the flagship programmes and schemes of the state and central governments are made available to the people and that they benefit from. He also distributed farm equipment to the beneficiaries on this occasion.

Parnaik said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has initiated the vibrant village programme to secure the borders and take development to the last village. “All provisions and requirements to develop the remote areas will be provided under the programme,” he said, and urged the people to make the mission successful by participating and facilitating the targeted people to avail benefits from the programmes. The governor further emphasized on the need for better road communication and bank facilities in the vibrant villages. He asked the officials to develop the vibrant villages as model villages. Parnaik, while sharing his concern about cases of cancer and tuberculosis among the rural population, called upon the people to join hands in their eradication. He said that the state and central governments are committed to getting rid of cancer and tuberculosis. Expressing his deep concern about the drug addiction among the youth, the governor appealed to the gaon burahs, panchayat leaders, parents, and guardians to eradicate the drug menace from society. He added that the youth have huge potential for games and sports activities like football, volleyball, and archery and further stressed that grounds and training centres for physical activities must be made available to them.

Local MLA Haying Mangfi, Arunachal Pradesh state Medicinal Plant Board Chairperson Kariya Bagang, East Kameng deputy commissioner Sachin Rana, and superintendent of police Kamdam Sikom were also present on the occasion.
