ITANAGAR: Kharsang police of Changlang district imposed Rs 200 fine on 16 persons for not wearing face masks in public place, thereby violating the standard operating procedures (SOPs) at the Kharsang town market here on Thursday. The district administration has already issued an order to charge fines on those people not wearing masks, spitting in public places and other SOPs in containing the spread of coronavirus earlier.
Meanwhile, the Itanagar district administration in an order on September 8, has appealed to the people of Itanagar Capital Region (ICR) to abide the 'new normal' by compulsory wearing of masks in public places. It has ordered to charge a penalty of Rupees 500 for not wearing a mask and Rs 200 for spitting in the public areas by the district administration. The administration officer and police officers were directed to impose the fine from September 14 earlier.
