Gaon Burah of Rillo village Tarh Sangkio refutes accused's claims over community land

ITANAGAR: Refuting the claim by the accused as the land of Tame Takiaing as "Community land", the Gaon Burah of Rillo village Tarh Sangkio said that the land belonged to him even before Arunachal Pradesh got its Statehood.

He said as an elder brother, he donated the land to his younger brothers for agriculture as well as their personal purpose in 2005 through a deed agreement.

"There is no fault by Tame Takiang for claiming the land of its own as it belonged to his father and it was donated by me," he said, while refuting the land as 'community land'. He also said that there was also a problem related to the land earlier but the case was solved amicably within the community and GBs. The land was formally gifted to my brothers in 1995 but due to some issues it was later officially donated in 2005, he added.

Earlier, on October 16, 2020, the house of Tame Takiang was totally burned down by alleged accused. However, the accused has denied any involvement in the arson. Capital SP Jimmy Chiram through a media briefing said that the police team found empty and loaded cartridges from the spot.
