ITANAGAR: The Pan Arunachal Joint Steering Committee (PAJSC) on the APPSC paper leakage scam has demanded the state government address the remaining points on the entire 13-point charter of demands related to scams by April 18. Following its failure to address the demands, the committee has threatened to carry forward its democratic movement in the state capital, Itanagar.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, PAJSC Chairman Techi Puru said that the team today submitted a detailed overview of the fulfilment of the 13-point charter of demands to Chief Minister Pema Khandu. Subsequently, the committee also demanded immediate fulfilment of the unaddressed demands among the 13 points. He said that though the state government has addressed most of the demands, the committee, besides demanding the fulfilment of the rest of the demands, has also suggested a few inputs and action plans to resolve the issue in the greater interest of the public in due time.

Techi Puru said that the committee is satisfied with the endorsement of the matter to the ED but suggested a temporary ED office at Itanagar instead of Guwahati, Assam. He claimed that complainants face financial issues as well as security concerns when travelling all the way to Guwahati for any kind of interrogation. “Likewise, the committee also placed the observation regarding the action taken by the state government into the matter of assets owned by all the accused in the scam and the officials of the commission, including the inclusion of two members from aspirants in the preparation of the SOP of the commission. Also, legislation of the whistleblower act, immediate disclosure of the three-member committee report, suspension of upcoming exams, etc.,” he said.

Meanwhile, PAJSC Vice Chairman Tadak Nalo said that only 80 per cent of the demands have been addressed, but the rest is yet to be addressed. It was the concern of the public to know at what pace and how far the matter was progressing. Therefore, the committee submitted a comprehensive representation to the CM today. He said that the committee dissected every single demand addressed by the state government and, accordingly, through a representation, highlighted the need for further action.

“We the committee members, made a proper analysis of the entire list of points redressed by the state government. However, there were a few points that needed to be addressed. Therefore, we have today submitted a detailed overview of the fulfilment of the 13-point charter of demands as per our understanding,” he said.

Meanwhile, the PAJSC, besides the existing 13-point demands in regard to the APPSC paper leakage scam, has also demanded the state government withdraw criminal charges registered against the chairman of the PAJSC, Techi Puru, the vice chairman, Tadak Nalo, the committee members, and other protestors.

The chairman of PAJSC, Techi Puru, told reporters that following the capital band call, an FIR was registered in five different police stations within the Itanagar Capital Region (ICR) by the police after taking Suo-Motto cognizance in the month of February last. He said the FIR was registered against him, Tadak Nalo, Sol Dodum, members of the committee, and the protestors.
