Itanagar: Governor Brig (retd) Dr. BD Mishra on Saturday extended his greetings and felicitations to all respected women of the state on the occasion of International women’s Day.
He expressed his hope that the occasion will give the fair sexes the resolve for continued effort to study, to excel, to ‘Startup’ and to take lead in social upliftment and entrepreneurship.
In his message to the people, the governor said that this year’s theme for International Women’s Day ‘Each for Equal’, is very befitting for the protection of the niche of the women.
He called upon all respected women to dare the bias and inequality against them, forge gender equality and pursue women’s advancement, achievement, and empowerment.
“It is my firm belief that restoring the rightful and dignified status of mothers, sisters, and daughters will secure a solid foundation for nurturing the inner strength for them and bolster the spirit of ‘An equal world’. Educated and enlightened daughters, sisters who graduate to motherhood play a very important role in good grooming of the future generation,” he said.
“Our enabled women, in an even world, become the catalysts for peace and positivity. It, therefore, devolves on all of us to create indelible awareness amongst the women of their rightful place and role in the society,” the governor said in his message.
Dr. Mishra added that in Arunachal women have made significant contributions in all fields of life.
“Beti Bachao Beti Padhao appeal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is helping in great measures in progress and strengthening of the women. The state government is well poised to promote the holistic growth of the women to enable them to achieve the empowered pedestal,” he said and wished all success for the Day’s celebration in the state.
