Governor Brig (retd) Dr. BD Mishra lauds Army units stationed in Arunachal

Itanagar: Governor Brig (retd) Dr. BD Mishra on Friday commended the Army units stationed in the State for the well-organized recruitment rally at Jairampur in Changlang districts.

During a meeting with Likabali-based 56 Infantry Division’s General Officer Commanding (GOC) Major General Ajay Kumar Vig, who called on him at Raj Bhawan here, the Governor appreciated the goodwill and good relation of the armed forces amongst the people of the State.

The Governor and the GOC discussed regarding the electricity supply to the Army units and land allotment for the new Army accommodation.

Major General Vig briefed Dr Mishra regarding the recruitment rallies, welfare of ex-servicemen, veer naris and security scenario of the State, a Raj Bhawan communique informed.

The Governor suggested him to continue to reach out to the people in the remote areas and provide them with the basic amenities to the extent possible.

Dr Mishra said that winning the hearts and minds of the people would assist the armed forces in keeping vigil in border areas and securing the territorial integrity of the nation.

The Governor advised the GOC to ensure that the ex-servicemen and veer naris, in his area are enabled to avail all the benefits provided by the Defence Ministry, the communique added.
