Itanagar: Dr Gurmet Dorjey has been appointed as the new Director of Central Institute of Himalayan Culture Studies (CIHCS), Dahung in West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh.
Prior to this engagement, Dr Dorjey has rendered his services as assistant professor in the School for Buddhist Studies and Civilization at Gautam Buddha University, Greater Noida in UP as well as in the Centre for Central Asian Studies at University of Kashmir, Srinagar.
Dr Dorjey after joining as the Director has paid homage to the statue of His Eminence the 13th Tsona Gonste Rinpoche, the founder of the Institute and has expressed his ardent will to accomplish the dream of its founder transferring CIHCS to the pinnacle of national and international reputation.
While interacting with the employees of the Institute, Dr Dorjey urged them to enhance a productive work culture and aspired to boost team spirit for the inclusive development of the Institute. He also appealed all the stakeholders of CIHCS to extend their kind cooperation in all matters contributing the growth and welfare of the Institute.
