Itanagar: Head constable of 4th IRBn Nani Talley has been suspended for making a video of YouTuber Paras Singh inside the District Jail, Jullang, Arunachal Pradesh.
Sources said that the video emerged online on Friday evening, which has gone viral, where Talley along with his other colleagues were seen questioning Paras over his YouTube content that landed him at the District Jail. The Arunachal Police taking cognizance of the incident immediately initiated disciplinary proceedings and suspended constable Talley.
The viral video has also drawn severe criticisms from various sections of society, prompting authorities to take immediate action. As per the order issued by 4th IRBn BHQ commandant Techi Henyir, Talley has been put under suspension with immediate effect. Talley will be entitled to draw subsistence allowances but has been directed to not leave the 4th IRBn headquarters, here without prior permission.
Prior to this, the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) in Yupia, Arunachal Pradesh has extended the judicial custody of the YouTuber by another seven days. This was informed by the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Special Investigated Team (SIT) Rohit Rajbir Singh. However, Paras was arrested by Ludhiana Police on May 25 because of his racist comment about Arunachal Pradesh MLA Ninong Ering and following this, he was brought to Itanagar by air by the SIT team of Arunachal Police on May 27.
