PASIGHAT: Health Minister Alo Libang launched the Special Routine Immunization Catch-up Campaign for pregnant women and newborn to 2-year old babies at the Sille PHC on Monday. The programme was attended by Pasighat West MLA Ninong Ering, DHS Dr. M. Lego, State Immunization Officer Dr. Dimong Padung, and others. While launching the campaign, the minister administered oral polio vaccine drop to a child on the occasion.

As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Libang also launched augmentation and saturation of second dose of COVID vaccine. Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that the largest COVID-19 vaccination drive in the country was launched on January 16, 2021. In order to attain optimum immunity against COVID-19, two doses were essential and the beneficiaries yet to be vaccinated with first dose and those who were due for the second dose must be tracked on priority and mobilized to CVC, he said.
