ITANAGAR: The Arunachal Volunteers Sena (AVS) has criticized the Lower Subansiri district administration for the alleged "illegallly appointment" of persons to the posts of UDC, LDCs and MTS (peons) without following the recruitment rules.

Addressing the media at the Press Club here, AVS president Tania June alleged that the office of Deputy Commissioner, Ziro illegally appointing one UDC, four LDCs and six peons (MTS) without conducting any interview and floating any advertisement in the local newspapers.

"In the year between 2018 and 2020, the entire 11 staffs appointed in the various posts of UDC, LDC and MTS were done internally on the basis of favoritism and unofficial," he alleged.

Demanding the termination of the already serving 11 staffers, the AVS has requested the DC of Ziro to publish a fresh advertisement against the same posts in the local dailies.

"If our demand is not fulfilled within a month, we will launch a democratic dharna in front of the DC's office," June said, adding that the present DC has also been negligent towards their demand and has repeatedly denied meeting the union representatives officially.

June added that Chukhu Panior, who was appointed as UDC in 2018, has now been promoted as 'Sheristedar' within a couple of years whereas the seniormost UDC should have been promoted to the post, he alleged. He also informed that Chukhu Panior is the son of former DC, Ziro Chukhu Takar.
