Itanagar, May 22: Additional District Magistrate cum Chief Estate Officer of Arunachal Pradesh Capital Talo Potom on Monday carried out an eviction drive at Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) compound at Naharlagun, where the state’s first medical college is coming up.

The eviction was also executed at Naharlagun Transport office campus which has already been allotted by the state government for the college, an official report informed.

Potom said that the Director of TRIHMS had earlier complained about encroachment and illegal settlement at the allotted land for the medical college.

“The DC could not take action…so I got the list of the people settled and gave them the notice on eviction. All the encroachments have been removed from the allotted area while only a single structure under the Transport Office was occupied. So far, the house has been dismantled,” he added.

This eviction was needed for early construction of the medical college, the report added.
