NAHARLAGUN: A team of Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC) corporators, led by Mayor Tame Phassang, called on the Minister for Urban Development (UD), Town Planning & Urban Local Bodies (ULB) Kamlung Mossang on Monday to extend their appreciation for the creation of a separate Director for ULB and also apprised him about various issues of the civic body.
During the meeting, Tame Phassang extended gratitude to the Minister and Chief Minister Pema Khandu for their consideration of the demands of the Corporation for the separate Director. Phassang informed that with the independent Director of ULB, the IMC as well as the Pasighat Municipal Council, will be able to function more dedicatedly and judiciously for the welfare of the common people. It will also ease the work burden of the Urban Development Department and Town Planning Department.
Now, funds sanctioned by the Central Government for various development projects of ULB will be used judiciously and it will be monitored properly so that every project is completed within the proper time frame, added Phassang.
The Mayor also briefed the Minister about various ongoing projects of the IMC for the welfare of the people and the State capital. He apprised the Minister about the ongoing construction of the Solid Waste Management Plant at Karisgnsa and Itanagar as per the NGT norms, Mobile Apps of IMC to monitor daily updates about IMC vehicles, garbage collection and redress public grievances, induction of modern and automatic road sweeping machine for highways, kiosk centre at Naharlagun for public service and other issues.
