ITANAGAR: The family members of police personal killed while in duty, who were denied constable jobs under the Arunachal Pradesh Police Compensatory Appointment scheme, have requested the authority concerned to defer the ensuing medical test of the recently-nominated 325 candidates scheduled to be held this month, citing unfair selection in the recruitment process.
In a press conference, one of the applicants who asked to remain anonymous alleged that “the compassionate appointment has not been made following terms of the scheme and the financial condition of the family of the deceased”.
Terming it as a matter of great concern, especially for those families who lost their only bread-earner, he claimed that they unearthed names of many candidates who were not eligible to get selected.
“It has come to our notice that many dependents of deceased are not qualified and were appointed while genuine aspirants facing extreme financial crisis were rejected,” he alleged.
Earlier, in the afternoon, the ‘deprived aspirants’ also met Director General of Police (DGP) and submitted a memorandum highlighting their grievances.
Meanwhile, the aspirants claimed that during the meeting, the DGP termed their demand as very genuine and assured to look into their demands.
