ITANAGAR: Superintendent of Police, Capital Complex Tumme Ammo attended the one-day legal service awareness programme organized by the Kobom Foundation in collaboration with Arunachal Pradesh State Legal Service Authority (APSLSA) at Government Secondary School, Basarnallo here on Saturday.

Addressing the gathering, Amo spoke on the criminal justice system, first information report (FIR) and conditional of arrest, bail, remand and role of gaon burahs in assisting the police.

Stressing upon the basic rights of a person, especially to female counterpart, Amo said, “No women can be arrested after sunset and before sunrise. Moreover, the presence of lady police is must during the time of arrest” he informed. “I will take stern against if my police personnel are found violating these norms”, the SP added.

“If any police officer refuses to receive complaint or to lodge FIR, he or she should directly inform the concerned SP or can take help from court,” he said further appealing to the GBs and youths to support the police in maintaining a crime-free society.
