Legislative Assembly introduces important Government Bill in Arunachal Pradesh

Itanagar: An important Government Bill was introduced in the Legislative Assembly on Monday by Home Minister Bamang Felix for considering and passing by the members.

Felix introduced the Arunachal Pradesh Property (Prevention of Damage and Loss) Bill 2020, to provide for the prevention of damage to property and for the matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

“At present, there is no state law to provide for punishment and compensation for damage and loss caused to any property by acts of mischief in the state. Therefore, it is urgently felt to enact a law to make legal provisions for punishments and compensation for damage and loss caused to any property in the state by acts of mischief,” the statement of the bill stated.

Felix, who also holds the Parliamentary Affairs portfolio, presented the third report of the Business Advisory Committee of the Assembly, which was later adopted.

Women and Child Development Minister Alo Libang also laid the report of the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women for the year 2016-17 and 2017-18 in the table of the house.

Speaker Pasang Dorjee Sona during the proceedings of the house announced the panel of chairmen for the current session which includes, Balo Raja, Gabriel D Wangsu, Wanglam Sawin and Gum Tayeng.
