ITANAGAR: Alleging that the arson and gun-firing incident on October 16 last was "pre planned and an act of criminal conspiracy", the villagers of Lorr-Pottung has demanded judicial inquiry of the case. The secretary of Lorr-Pottung Village Development Committee, GiogiPai while condemning the act said that a mob of hundreds entered the village on the intervening night of October 16 and burned down the house of Tame Takiang.

He further stated that the act of burning the house and open gun firing in the village has left many in the worst condition of mental trauma. He added that such acts of barbarism and cowardliness by the miscreants should be condemned by every section of society.

"Every single person involved in the arson should be arrested and their guns should be seized," he said, informing that "so far, only two persons have been arrested by the police as per the investigation officer". Pai also said that the villagers still don't have any idea of the total arrests among the hundreds so far.

He also demanded that the Police department should assure that the villagers are safe and the culprits of the incident be arrested soon.

He also said that during a meeting held in the village, an eye witness informed that hundreds people with six vehicles had entered the village on the night of October 16.

Meanwhile, the president of All Lower Baath Youth Association (ALBYA) GiogiTagi informed that the association in response to the complaint by the villagers, has also filed an FIR in the Itanagar Police Station. "We have also provided evidence of the alleged involvement of a person in the arson and gun-firing case in the village to the police," he said, adding that the Police department should immediately arrest those culprits and punish them so that such incident never happens in a civilized society.
