ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lieutenant General K T Parnaik said on Sunday that through ‘Mann Ki Baat’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is taking the nation towards Shreshtha Bharat and Shashakta Bharat. Participating in the special screening of the 100th episode of the programme at Raj Bhawan, the governor said such an initiative is unique, not found in any other country, and establishes direct contact between the PM and the people. "Mann Ki Baat" is associated with nation-building. It touches common people and suggests local solutions. The programme recognizes the good works done by common citizens and shares them on a national platform so that it inspires others," he said. It was having a transformative impact on the country, the governor added.
K T Parnaik said that through the programme, Modi always emphasized nari shakti, the preservation and promotion of the cultural heritage and traditions of India, and cooperation. "It is the obligation of every Indian to fulfil those objectives and look upon them with a sense of national pride," the governor said. The programme also highlights ‘dharma and karma"—faith and duties—Parnaik said, adding that dharma always teaches the goodness of life and motivates all towards the wellbeing of society, while karma encourages a spirit of service. He cautioned that along with scientific progress, the people must not forget their roots.
The governor appreciated the people of the state for taking initiatives inspired by the Mann Ki Baat programme and appealed to them to participate in the PM’s mission and make it successful. On the occasion, the governor also felicitated special invitees Meena Ngurang, Devang Hosai, Maling Gombu, and Takar Talo, whose names were referred to in various earlier episodes of the programme by Modi. As a token of appreciation, Parnaik announced an amount of fifty thousand each for library books, Mon Shugu paper making, and the panchayat of Jorsing Village. DDK Itanagar, All India Radio, and the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC) of the Union Information and Broadcasting Ministry organized the screening programme.
