ITANAGAR: The advisor to the Department of Power-cum-MLA Balo Raja has appreciated the power department for achieving revenue collection of Rs 127 crore through the sale of surplus power in the power market. Raja said this while attending the inaugural session of the first State operational coordination meeting of the State power department held at the Dorjee Khandu Auditorium here on Wednesday.

Addressing the gathering, Raja also said that such huge revenue from a single department, which is great news, has proved that Arunachal Pradesh can be the powerhouse of the country.

He further lauded the Department for organizing such coordination meetings where engineers and experts from different sectors of the Power Department are exchanging their views and suggestions for better Arunachal.

"Such meetings will be organized from time to time so that we can resolve issues, and take new initiatives for the department," Raja added.

Earlier, Chief Engineer (Commercial)-cum-Chief Electrical Inspector Tasso Hinda informed that the Department of Power has earned the highest revenue of Rs 327 crore in the 2021-22 financial year. Out of Rs 327 crore, Rs 127 crore was earned through the sale of surplus power in the power market.

Meanwhile, the head of the State load dispatch center-cum-SE (E) Nangkong Perme and SE (E) Trans TK Tara informed that there will be no power collapse, especially in the capital region as the department has sufficient grid availability (Alternative sources).

Tara informed that there may be some problems in local distributions (LT Line), but grid supply won't be disrupted. For Itanagar, the department has grid supply from Biswanath Chariali (two circuits), Ranganadi (two circuits), Pare (one circuit), Chimpu sub-Station (two circuits) and Gohpur (one circuit). "However, the Gohpur circuit recently collapsed due to a flash flood," Tara informed.

Among others, Director-APEDA M Loya, Executive Director of Power Grid BS Jha, CMD-HPDCL Toko Anuj, Executive Director-PGCIL NS Jha, Chief Engineer of DHPD P Tape, Chief Engineer (P) G Linggi and others attended the meeting,
