MLA Ojing Tasing treks inaccessible area to find feasibility of road construction

Itanagar: Pangin MLA Ojing Tasing along with Siang DC Rajeev Takuk and other heads of departments on Monday trekked for around 5 hours to ascertain the alignment of the proposed road construction from Kebang Radha to Kebang Sole village via Kebang Bangku (old Kebang).

Bangku is a valley located in the top of Dokong Mountain, where the people of Kebang village migrated since ages. It was also the village where British set fire on the houses of the villagers as the consequence of 4th and last Anglo-Abor War.

Stating that historically Kebang Bangku is an important place which need to be re- developed, Tasing assured to develop Kebang (Bangku) from his end and contribute an amount of Rs 3 crore from his LAD Fund during next financial year.

In this regard, he asked all the HoDs to have proper planning for its development.

He also asked each and everyone to maintain quality works for better development of the area.

While seeing the agriculture, horticulture and tourism potential of the area, the MLA stressed on economic development for the unemployed youths for their sustainable livelihood.

The DC expressed serious concern over poor condition of historic Radha Dere (community hall) and called for immediate construction of it as soon as possible to facilitate the people. Takuk asked the public and government officials to work in close coordination for overall development of Kebang circle.

The trekking expedition was organized by Paator Guumin Welfare Society and Paator Gumin Heritage & Research Foundation as a sole motive to develop Bangku area in coming days, stated a press release on Tuesday.
